Wind & Safety Tips for Jet Skiing in Gordon’s Bay

The ocean is always exciting, but wind and waves can make a big difference to your jet ski experience. At Jet Skis and More, safety is our number one priority — which is why we monitor weather conditions closely before allowing anyone onto the water.

✅ Important Wind Guidelines

Strong South-East (SE) Winds:

If gusts are over 30 km/h from the SE, the sea conditions in Gordon’s Bay become rough and unpredictable.

Waves build quickly, making it very hard — and even dangerous — to ride jet skis safely.

For this reason, we do not allow anyone out on the water in these conditions.

Other Winds (30 km/h but not SE):

If winds are 30 km/h from another direction, the water is usually still manageable. There may be some chop on the surface, but conditions are generally safe enough for riding, depending on your experience.

Why This Matters

South-East winds funnel strongly into the bay, creating steep waves and challenging conditions, while winds from other directions usually don’t have the same effect. Our team checks the forecast daily and will always put your safety first.

✨ Tip for Riders:

If you’re planning a jet ski session, try to book in the morning when the water is often calmer and winds lighter.
